Taconic TLX-8 PCB
Taconic TLX-8 high frequency RF PCB — Dk 2.55 ± 0.04, ultra-low loss PTFE woven-glass laminate

Overview
Taconic is the world’s largest producer of PTFE copper-clad laminates, holding the patent for uniform PTFE coating on woven glass. TLX-8 is a grade within the TLX series with a tightly controlled dielectric constant of 2.55 ± 0.04 at 10 GHz.
With ultra-low dissipation factor (0.0017 @10 GHz) and low moisture absorption, TLX-8 is ideal for low-layer-count microwave designs — antennas, mixers, splitters, filters, combiners and other passive RF components. It is suitable for radar, mobile communications, test equipment and microwave transmission.

Frequently Asked Questions
1.What is the dielectric constant of TLX-8?
TLX-8 has a tightly controlled dielectric constant of 2.55 ± 0.04 at 10 GHz — the middle of the TLX 2.45–2.65 window.
2.How low is the loss of TLX-8?
Dissipation factor is 0.0012 at 1.9 GHz and 0.0017 at 10 GHz, with PIM below -160 dBc — suitable for low-loss passive RF.
3. Which TLX grades does Andwin stock?
All five grades — TLX-0, TLX-9, TLX-8, TLX-7 and TLX-6 — are available from raw laminate stock, with dielectric thicknesses from 0.064 to 6.35 mm.
4. Can TLX-8 be processed like FR-4?
No. TLX-8 is a PTFE-based woven-glass laminate and requires a dedicated PTFE process line (special drilling, desmear and bonding). It must not be mixed with standard FR-4 production.
5.What is the typical lead time?
With TLX-8 raw material in stock at Andwin, prototype turnaround is short; exact time depends on layer count and via structure.
